About the Project

The main objective of this project is to strengthen Safe Haven infrastructure by ensuring that high-risk clients and their children can safely be transported to official appointments without the risk of being unexpectedly faced with the abusive partner or parent. A reliable vehicle will allow the foundation to offer clients increased safety and protection, from potential physical, emotional and health hazards. Daily management of the shelter will become more flexible as the workforce can easily be mobilized to respond to emergency and unforeseen situations.

About the Organization

Safe Haven Foundation has consistently offered abused women and their minor children free living space, sustainable social development, supportive and protective services, counselling and community connections to raise their standard of living. Through internally facilitated workshops, women's self-esteem, confidence and assertiveness is built, they are taught about their rights and how to navigate through the obstacles that women encounter when claiming entitlement to these traits. Additionally, Safe Haven offers educational programs, to its clients and the community at large, specifically geared to deepen individuals’ understanding of critical issues relating to domestic violence.
