About the Project

The Raoul Illidge Sports Complex (RISC) is one of the main sporting facilities and has been in disrepair since the passing of hurricane Irma. The RISC hosts the only public pool where many school kids receive their swimming lessons, a crucial life skill when living on an island. It hosts approximately 750 persons weekly through different schools and programs, from the youngest baby swimmers to senior swimming and water aerobics classes. The pool is in need of repairs and is not safe to use in its current state. In this project the NSI will resurface the pool, install hydro pavers for extra safety, and redo the surface area around the pool. The works will be carried out during the summer vacation period when the pool is generally not used much.
