About the Project

Hurricane Irma left a trail of destruction on land but also a lot of rubbish was blown into the sea. This project aims to map the location of rubbish strewn bays and coastline in the Dawn Beach area using up to 24 young adults (18-34) as volunteers who will begiven a course in snorkeling, diving (PADI certificate) and mapping. The volunteers will be sourced from Kidz at Sea’s own maritime training program but also from other foundations catering to vulnerable young adults.

About the Organization

Kidz at Sea Foundation  was established to create employment opportunities in the marine industry for local Sint Maarten youth by providing formal marine training and certification in areas such as boat building, sail making and sailing.
