About the Project

The main objective of this project is to provide their students with a variation of sports and locomotor activities that will ensure a well-rounded educational experience. These activities such as football, swimming, dance, tennis and physical education are part of a well-planned curriculum that will assist ELA’s students with their gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, agility, independence and focus. Furthermore, the Foundation plans to give all teachers training opportunities through full access to a website specifically designed for training of special needs teachers.

About the Organization

The Excellence Learning Academy was birthed on October 2nd, 2017 one month after hurricane Irma and provides care and education to 30 students with a range of special needs such as Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and various learning disabilities.  The objective of ELA is to provide an environment that will allow children to feel good about themselves, approach challenges with optimism, explore their world with confidence and competence, and ultimately reach their full potential.
